Adaptive Tactical Tac-Hammer Barrel and Stock Review

Date: 28-06-2021

John Herbert from Rod & Rifle NZ reviews the Adaptive Tactical Tac-Hammer barrel and stock.

There seems to be no end to the custom options available for the Ruger 10/22; next to the AR15, it’s probably the most customised rifle in the world, and the aftermarket industry just keeps on pumping out new products to pimp this little rifle. New Zealand Ruger distributors JPB Furley sent us a 10/22 with an Adaptive Tactical stock and barrel for review; they fitted the parts to a stock 10/22 rifle, and it’s fair to say it no longer looks like your grandad’s 10/22.

Adaptive Tactical are a US company who, somewhat unsurprisingly, also make accessories for AR15 rifles and Mossberg pump-action shotguns. I won’t bore you with a full 10/22 review as 99% of you will know this rifle and its history, but the barrel and the stock both have some unique features that are worth having a look at … so we’ll explore just what these two components can do for your rifle.

The Tac-Hammer barrel is capable of excellent accuracy. To put this into perspective, a Ruger Precision Rimfire I tested a few years back gave similar levels of accuracy with match ammo.
